Our Mission To help people realize just how special they are, and that there are those who care for and love them deeply.
History of the Company Name When we first endeavored to begin this company, we were intent on capturing a broad spectrum of human experiences and emotions, and honor them to the best of our abilities through video e-cards.
We actually dislike the term e-card, because our whole goal was to far-transcend what typical e-cards have done to this point. Our messages are very thought out and convey a deeper and more thorough conveyance of sentiment. We would like to think of our videos more in terms of an e-letter because they are more personal and lengthy in nature—much like a hand-written letter may be.
The ultimate name for our Company had to encompass a myriad of themes but, more important and relevant to that, it must both recognize and compliment our desire to encourage people to go further with their sentiments and grow closer in their relationships with family and friends. The whole idea of our lives being joined in many different ways with those closest to us is truly a blessing worth giving homage to now and then. It is our sincere hope that our videos represent one true and genuine way to extend that appreciation.
The word “woven” originally came from a photograph that we liked and which featured a multi-colored piece of woven fabric much like burlap. Woven fabric is rustically beautiful. There are uneven strands, varying colors, both rounded and frayed edges, and…there is texture, substance—it stands out and is noticeable—it is unique in so many ways. We are captivated whenever we look at something like this.
The word “journey” came from many discussions about all the different stages of life and experiences we all go through, many of which are highly charged in emotion. Any kind of traveling journey is filled with ups and downs and easy and difficult segments—just like life.
Putting the two words together one day just seemed to fit!
Our lives and the journeys we find ourselves upon are continually mixed, joined, and criss-crossed back and forth—much like woven fabric. Our experiences are always shared, to some degree, with people we meet, people we work with, interact with, live with, care about—Love. Each person who crosses our path, our journey, has an impact—small and large, good and bad—and they leave a lasting impression. The tapestry that makes the sum-total of our journey is truly a work of art—it is fluid, in constant motion and continually changing.
And we think it is in the subtleties that all the difference can be made. We believe a piece of fabric that has been well handled and cared for—one that shows lots of color—can still be improved upon, impressed upon. But perhaps even more importantly, we believe a piece of fabric that has been mishandled, ignored, shunned, or damaged, worn down and without color, can be Greatly improved upon—reassembled, strengthened, added to, colored, nurtured and cared for, and lifted up.
It is usually through the smallest of gestures, when we let someone else know that we were thinking about them, that we have the largest impact on a person’s day—a moment of time they may be experiencing.
At Woven Journey we want to continually touch people’s lives as much as we can—to let them—you—know we care deeply about the life you live, experience, and survive through each and every day. We share our own life experiences—the joys and the hardships, the laughs and the tears—and we are enriched by your life experiences. Together we can weave stories of Encouragement, Hope, Joy, Peace, Faith, and Love to those we care about.
And just as we are committed to touching the lives of you, our friends, we want to help you find unique and special ways to embrace your friends, family, and loved ones. Our goal is to provide people with the sentiments that truly express what is inside their heart—those genuinely heart-felt words and emotions that are so often hard to put together.
We are committed to providing deep feeling and high-emotionally impacting messages that go beyond simply touching on the surface to piercing our deepest core. Our use of words, imagery, and music make our messages very unique and memorable--we will be taking e-cards into a whole new direction.
We hope you will feel excited and blessed to be able to share your sentiments with as many people as you care to. We are all on a journey and our lives are constantly being woven together by our experiences, circumstances and choices. Let us chose today to make someone else’s fabric a little softer, a little more colorful, and a little stronger.
If we can do that…we are certain to find a more beautiful pattern in ourselves!
History of the Logo Our traveling person, whom we’ve knick-named “Sam,” is a person on a Journey carrying unknown “goodies” in a burlap sack that dangles from a stick.
We have to give much credit to our artist, Anna Nadler, who designed both the Logo and the artwork for our Web-pages. Our original concept for the Logo was far different from what Anna came up with. However, when we saw the traveling person for the first time…dare we say it was “love at first sight?” Yes... that’s what it was!
You will notice some subtle, but highly meaningful things within the Logo. First, there is the more obvious parallel of the traveling person and the road, to our own lives and the journey we travel each day.
Secondly, and less obvious, is the burlap sack which features woven burlap and multi-colored thread. What’s contained in the sack is unknown but we presume may be a compilation of trinkets that signify poignant periods of life…or, rather gifts that are yet to be bestowed upon someone special in Sam’s life. We’ll never know for sure though, because Sam isn’t talking.
Thirdly, the actual thread that is used to attach the burlap sack to the stick is tied off with a heart-shaped bow, signifying a high degree of care and love that is characteristic of Sam and what is contained in the sack.
Last, you will notice that the stick is actually a sewing needle with an eyelet on the end that attaches to the burlap sack. This is another creative representation of the idea of our lives being woven together... obviously Sam is intending on much more weaving to be accomplished on the journey...
